I’m 60+ and my husband has a heart condition. I'm afraid to start my new job. Is that irresponsible?

Updated: Mar 24

One type of coronavirus anxiety is caused by concern for our loved ones.

I can only imagine how you must feel about to start a job you have wanted for a while and worrying about the implications for your husband.

One way to begin to resolve the situation is to talk to your husband about your dilemma, and talk to his doctor. It’s important to get the right medical advice.

You're certainly not irresponsible for wanting to start the job, you just might need to find out the medical implications of going into a retail setting at this time. You might also talk to your new employers and see what plans they have in place to protect the well being of their employees.
